So much has happened since I last blogged. First off, I am no longer with Justin. Things happen. Secondly, I lost 15 pounds! I am now 128, which I had not been for four years! I have been running and working out steadily for the past two months. I feel great physically and I am preparing myself for a half marathon in February on the beach.
My long runs consist of about seven miles and I have been doing about one a weeks at that distance. I do a lot more cross training now, which incorporates biking, trail running, stadiums, and weight training. I have been eating breakfast everyday now, which I believe has help to boost my metabolism. I don't crave sweets as badly as I used to. I eat smaller portions, but I eat three times a day, whereas before I would eat one or two really big meals.
At first I lost the weight because I was depressed and I wasn't eating...the unhealthy way to lose weight, but I turned that around to my benefit and I have continued to lose weight the healthy way. I am also not scared to weight train with heavier weights now, which has given me a lot more muscle mass and increased my metabolism. I do not snack throughout the day like I used to, and if I decide to have a snack, I make it a healthy snack, like carrots.
I will try to keep up with this now that I am a bit more stable. I want to see my progress as I train for my first half. I am excited about what lies ahead. :)
